Atacama Industrial Services provides maintenance for mining conveyors and overhead structures in the Atacama region. Their previous rental fleet was expensive and unreliable for long-term site work, so the company decided to purchase a boom lift that could handle elevated welding, inspection, and component replacement duties in one of the harshest operating environments in South America.
Challenges
- Extreme environment: Fine desert dust, high ambient heat, and abrasive wind load on exposed components
- Remote servicing: Site locations are far from urban service centers, so the machine must be dependable and easy to maintain locally
- Payload demands: Technicians frequently carry welding sets, tools, and replacement parts into the basket
- Rough terrain: Access roads to work areas are unpaved and uneven
Solution
GP LIFT delivered a 14m Diesel Boom Lift built for heavy industrial duty:
